The city is a hub for the three Rs of transportation, Rail, River, and Road. The Wharf district on the west side is small, but very active, with many fisheries and shipping companies. Seven railroads cross through the city, with Grand Central Station of Northwest rivaling New York in number of passengers and goods that pass through. And though the horses and carts are still more plentiful than automobiles, the roads that snake through Northwest link the State, and the Country, are paved in miles of concrete to a finish as smooth as glass.
