“Watcha reading?” You groan in annoyance. “Go away Gilbert.” School was bad enough today without your annoying brother bugging you. All you wanted to do was read your Hetalia reader inserts in peace.
“Geez schwester just wanted to see what you were doing.” He walks towards the door of your bedroom. You sigh in relief. Finally, peace and quiet.

Everyone will die.
That is a fact.
You will die.
Your friends will die.
Everyone you know will die.
These are indisputable facts.
Your body will break down and crash in one way or another.
Your heart will stop.
Your brain synapses will cease firing.

You and everyone you know has less than 122 years left.
The oldest person alive was 122.

Death should be your number one enemy.
Do not accept it.
Do not welcome it.
The question is - are you willing to extend, improve your life and the lives of those you love?
Why haven't you done it yet? Do you think it's impossible?
Flying for us was impossible until airplanes were built.
Now, the question is- how do we stop the personal catastrophe of death?
The logical answer is - science!
We can slow death down using modern medicine, and we can stop and reverse some accidental causes of death.
Aging is one cause that we cannot currentl

Your hands fumbled with a stuffed rabbit toy. Its furry face staring right back at you as you sat up in bed. Mommy and daddy were fighting again. It was the fifth time this week. You covered your ears and closed your eyes, blocking out the screaming and the yelling. But, it was no use. Daddy's yell was loud, and it reached your ears through your little hands. You began to sniffle and let the tears roll down your precious face.
A tall, dark figure walked in. He was a man with shaggy blonde hair and dull-green eyes. Without a word, he stood in front of you, smirking.

Long fingers hurriedly typed away on the laptop. The only light in the room came from the laptop's screen. Sky blue eyes, hidden by glare streaked glasses, darted left to right. A small grunt came from their pale lips, blonde eyebrows furrowed in frustration. A small ding alerted the user of a notification. He pursed his lips, the once angry and frustrated expression turned into that of a happy one.
The male sat back in his computer chair, arms behind his head, chest puffed out. The proud smirk spread across his face. An endless amount of dings soon follow suit, it was music to his ears. He placed his feet upon the desk and reclined in the chair. A satisfied sigh now came from his parted lips.
"Alfred Frank Jones," an anger filled voice echoed through the house.
The once proud filled smile, disappeared in an instant. Slight fear entered the sky blue eyes as they widened. Alfred's feet quickly found their way off the computer desk as he bolted out of the chair. He opened the door to the

A crash of thunder caused her to sit up quickly in bed. [e/c] orbs wide, and heart racing. Her once sound sleep was disturbed by the storm outside, and the terrifying feeling of being watched. Her eyes swept across the room, a brief flash of lightning illuminated the room.
From what she could tell, everything was normal. Looking around once more, she noticed her closet door was open. Frowning, she tried to remember if she did in fact close it or not. Shrugging the thought off, she tossed her sheets to the side and got out of bed.
A loud crack of thunder rang and the young female stared at the window. She wasn't scared, just unamused at the fact that such a thing woke her. With a sigh, she slowly walked over to the closet.
A low click was heard as she closed the door, another sigh leaving her lips. Playing with the fabric of her nightgown, the girl made her way back to the warmth of her bed.

Arguing With IdiotsWe all have our addictions. For some, it's smoking. For others, it's drinking. And for many others, it's porn. For me, it's arguing on the internetthe most fruitless endeavor since Sisyphus rolling a boulder up a hill.Arguing With Idiots3 years ago in Editorial More Like This
I don't know what compels me to argue. I guess it's this naive notion that, if you encounter someone with an incorrect belief and you provide them logic, reason, and evidence to the contrary, that they will abandon their belief. If that were the case, the world wouldn't be plagued with birthers, truthers, anti-vaccers, Keynesians, and other idiots with blatantly incorrect beliefs. You can lead an idiot to knowledge but you can't make them think.
So I know that arguing with people rarely changes their minds. So why do I persist with arguing? Do I derive pleasure from it? Hardly! If anything, it gives me grief. There's nothing more frustrating than knowing someone is demonstrably wrong, and even when you prove to them that they are, not only do they not admit it, but
Mew TFI woke up, after a long night. What made it so long? I have no idea. It may have been due to the weird dreams I had. Most of them made my head hurt like a seizure, but one of them had a Mew in it, and that one I could remember distinctly.Mew TF9 months ago in Profiles More Like This
Mew is my favorite Pokémon. There was time when it was Pikachu, then Charizard, then Chesnaught, then Serperior, and now Mew. I thought Mew was a really interesting Pokémon, for multiple reasons. It was cuter than heck, it could easily use any move, and become any Pokémon. It was the ultimate Pokémon.
I got up, took my shower, got some clothes on (generic shorts, generic socks, generic shoes, and one of those Mew-in-pocket shirts you get on Redbubble and the like) and headed off to school.
The bus was the same old bus ride, as usual. Got on, rode, some kids got off, another stop, more kids come on, and then it stopped at my school. "Finally" I thought. I tried to get off, but kids were getting in the way. I wait

Tired creatures rest in a heap.
I'll tuck your little hoofsies in.
Please go the buck to sleep.
Ponyville snoozes in darkness, my darling
Not even the insects creep.
It's time to go to slumberland,
So go the buck to sleep.
The griffins above the clouds are tired out
And the fishes slumber in the deep.
Ponyfeathers, there's no way you're not tired!
Just get in your bucking bed, you'll see! Go sleep!
Rainbow Dash is snoring now
And Applejack is counting sheep.
Darn it, just shut up, no more,
And go the buck to sleep!
Fluttershy keeps her critters close.
They snooze without a peep.
I'm not getting you any cider now!
Just go the buck to sleep!

The birds are too tired to cheep.
I'll send you to the moon, I swear,
If you don't go the buck to sleep!

It's looking trim and neat.
What the buck Rarity, not you too!

My wife was a busy woman, always tending to her work before her duties as a spouse. She worked for a rather large financial corporation as the CEO, where as I was just a stay at home writer. We both were constantly consumed by our work and as you can guess, we hardly ever spent time with each other anymore, let alone had a home cooked meal but this was the ever growing norm in our lives.
She went to work and I stayed home, growing more annoyed at how she cared more about her damn job then she did about her own husband. We fought on and off about the subject of her taking less hours and spending more time at home with me, but that went in one ear and easily out the other. She would always say something along the lines of:
“These numbers won’t simply calculate themselves”
“A business isn't run efficiently without it’s CEO.”
She always made sure to remind that she brought home the money, what with me only having ever published one book. It was eviden
Whistle: A True Short StoryThree years ago, while my sister was walking home, something very strange--and disturbing--took place. Before I jump ahead of myself, however, I'm going to explain a few things.Whistle: A True Short Story7 months ago in Short Stories More Like This
We were 12 years old at the time, out in the suburbs of Illinois. Autumn had come, making everything brisk, and foliage and rooftops turn the color of fire. We lived not too far from our elementary and junior high school, which looked something like those little red schoolhouses you see in old films. Our apartment had three floors, and the only other person we lived with was my father. We'd moved in after my mother and father divorced. Neat little shrubs and hedges surrounded our complex. The park was only a walk away. Sometimes, we'd go there to play with friends. Our area wasn't heavily populated, and very quiet and clean. Our neighbors were mainly elderly folks, who would sometimes make small talk with my father.
Hardly anything out of the ordinary happened--all was well and good.
Now, before you assume abso
Mewtwo TFI was so bored, and most of the fun things you'd suggest wouldn't help. I've been playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Project M for hours, there was nothing new on DeviantART, Reddit was down, and I was bored of battling the same OU Pokémon playing Pokémon X/Y online. I turned on some music and decided I'd play some Pokémon. Not X/Y, mind you, but Red Version. I popped the cartridge unto the blue GBA SP I've had since launch (I needed the backlight bad, and I never had a Game Boy Light) I finished off a couple of things I forgot to do - the Mew glitch, MissingNO, and most important: cloning Pokémon, by a long-time method of simply turning off your Game Boy at the right time while it's saving. I grabbed my second Game Boy (this time a Color) my Pokémon Blue, and my original Game Boy link cables, and started the process. I put the Mewtwo I was cloning up on the Color, and a Pidgey from my Red. I started the trade and turned it off right when I thoughMewtwo TF9 months ago in Settings More Like This

"Why I need Feminism" poem. **Featured here on Devaintart..
Judging by the original poem and some of the interesting replies to it..
It seems that a lot of people don't actually follow Feminism.
IE: You all ask the question:
How can people "hate" feminism, when it stands for equal rights?
It's sad to say, but Feminism isn't about equal rights.. well, unless you're just
a coffee shop feminist or taking it at the value of only ONE of it's definitions.
If you actually read the books and watch the interviews with the women in charge
of your movement. Then you'll see Feminism for what it actually is and what it promotes.

Real men respect this untameable inner world and nurturing nature within every female’s mind

Real men know women are smarter than men in many if not most ways, not to mention being wise
Real men respect the ladies in their lives and know to turn to them for advice, because girls have all been through more than guys

deviantART, Do you support it? Let's think for a moment. Would you want your government to take your personal information without your knowledge? I definitely wouldn't want that. I would not support this bill even if I was paid a million bucks. But that may not be true for you guys though. Who knows maybe after you finish this essay you would actually support the bill, but maybe not. As I go through this essay I will explain my reasons for why I disagree with CISPA, along with examples/evidence. I will also be giving the view of the people who agree with CISPA. They were also best friends with each other; they've been so for 12 years straight.

The AsylumMy entire life I've always had a sort of obsession with the idea of insanity. I don't know why. I've always found the dark and the morose to be fascinating. I guess it's the thought of plunging down into a state where what happens in the real world and what happens in your head becomes undistinguishable that interests me so. It's insane asylums that have always attracted my greatest attention. I don't mean the nice, normal hospital type of institutions we see now a days. I mean a full-on, classic insane asylum. Dark, cold, lonely. So much madness trapped in one place, the screams of the crazy coming from every corner of the building. I could always hear it in my head. I could practically see it when I thought hard enough. And all throughout my childhood, and even now in my late teens, I've always thought about it. While the other little girls would be drawing pictures of
