John and Sherlock had been living together for quite some time now, and the detective had gotten used to the various females that appeared around their flat now and then – John's girlfriends, ex-girlfriends, patients, relatives of patients, and basically every other girl within a half mile. However, he could sense that this time, it was something different. She didn't seem as if she was John's love interest; they seemed to be on more of a casual basis, so it could be easily assumed that they were colleagues.
“Sherlock, this is Joan...” John said, leading her into the living room that day.
Of course, introducing her by the name was meaningless – Sherlock would forget it anyway.
“Hi,” she said a little bit cautiously, shaking his hand. Beeswax cream, Sherlock noted mentally. She washes her hands frequently, has callouses on her palm - obviously works with her hands - but sh

How could they do this?
27 killed, 18 CHILDREN.
How could they take this towns bliss?
The town next to me,
5 minutes from where i was,
A tragic killing spree,
My school in a buzz.
My schools doors locked,
Everyone was shocked
There wasn't a sound.
In just moments the nation knew,
This doesn't feel real,
How could this be true?
It's numbness I feel.
I can't seem to grasp it...
I sit here in my tears,
Surrounded by fears,
Please keep the adults and children in your prayers. <3 RIP

"AGH!!" Bird Bones moaned out loud. "I HATE SHORT DAYS!!"
Eric looked over at her with a cocked eyebrow.
"I thought you liked short days?" He asked proddingly. Bird Bones leaned over and rested her elbows on her knees; propping up her head with her hands. They were at her sister's elementary school, sitting on a bench, looking at all the children play on the playground equipment after the final bell had rung. BB and Eric had gotten out of school early that whole week because Thanksgiving break was close approaching.
"Well, I do, if it means we don't have to pick my stupid sister up from school." She complained. Eric leaned back against the bench and sighed out loud. Sometimes, BB's rivalry with her sister made Eric want to gag. Having no siblings himself, he simply could not understand their family dynamics.
There was a long pause between them.
"GAHH!" BB finally exclaimed. "What is taking her so long?!!"
"Maybe she's out there somewhere playing with her friends?" Eric asked.

The crumpled ball of paper was tossed to the wastebasket, and rolled around the rim of the waste bin before dropping in, joining ten other balled up story ideas and even more torn up papers. The pencil that hovered over your paper began to furiously scribble over the crude chicken scratch, making it illegible for anyone else who even attempted to decipher it.
You exhaled out of your nose, eyebrows furrowing as you glared down at the paper, impartial to your distress, and your gaze flew to the other paper that was the only one uncrumpled in the past half hour, though you were seriously considering it. You picked it up, and your eyes flew over the title in its old Edwardian Script, and couldn’t help but sigh again.

It was beautiful, sunny day in Cayucos, California. However, even the perfect weather couldn't improve the mood of one of the local residents as he gloomily walked across the sand. Surfboard in his hand, he stared out into the horizon, his natural blonde hair blowing in the wind. He then realized that he was the only person on the beach, which just made him feel worse. He felt so alone lately, ever since summer began. His parents had left him for a whole month to go visit relatives who lived a few states away. The poor surfer couldn't go with his parents because he had to take summer school classes.
"Fucking Econ...." He grumbled to himself.
The poor highschooler didn't even have any friends to help him with his loneliness. Besides his good looks and likeable personality, he was painfully shy and only had a few friends. And those few friends happened

Then you went through your jewelry box to see exactly what piece of jewelry would complement the dress. You looked through various items and smiled as you dug through it. You didn't really like to keep too much jewelry, but the ones you did keep had deep value. There was the crystal pendant... the heart locket... and a tiny little pink heart necklace.
You took it out and giggled to yourself. At that point, Lovino stuck his head in the room with a confused look on his face.
"What's so funny?"
You turned around and showed him the necklace. Curious, he came closer and took it from you. Once he recognized what it was, he laughed and then put the necklace on as he kissed your cheek.

Thoughts On Bella SwanYeah, well, I've been reading a bunch of Twilight-based rants lately and thought I'd hop on the bandwagon while it's still fresh. **FAIL** For all you Bella-haters out there, please enjoy. For all of you who actually like Bella and are about to argue with me, YOU CAN SLAP YOURSELF SILLY WITH A FISH FOR ALL I CARE. C:Thoughts On Bella Swan7 years ago in Reviews & Guides
Where to begin? Bella is, without a doubt, an absolute train wreck of a character. It's actually difficult to decide which of her alarmingly numerous flaws (despite her being a fault-less character) require attention first. Nevertheless, let's get started.
Bella Swan is the queen of Mary Sues, if not the goddess of Mary Sues, hands-down. If you don't know what a Mary Sue is, you don't even need to look it up on Wikipedia; as long as you know about Bella, you need no further explanation.
The story immediately starts off with her insisting (it's written in first-person, which is absolutely terrifying, as it means we must constantly be inside Bella's cesspool of a brain) that

I had been worried about the five quizzes and tests I had to take today. One in Algebra II, one in Religion, one in Chemistry, one in Government, and the last in Spanish. I thought that would be all I'd have to worry about today.
I wish that was all I had to deal with.
I made it to Algebra, Religion, Chemistry and Chem. Lab. That's when we heard the news.
The superintendent came on the loudspeaker and called for our attention twice. The first time, since she said it was a special announcement, I thought it was for the student of the month. Then I heard the tone of voice she was using and I knew there was something wrong. I had no idea how wrong.
She told us that due to an event that had occurred at Sandy Hook Elementary

Yeah, you. Don't give me that look. I'm just talking to you, amn't I? You look sad, and I thought telling you I'm sad too would help. Or that everyone around you is crying secretly.
I know that your life is hard, but you're not the only one with some heartbreak. Everybody has some thing that they keep locked inside, something that breaks them down.
Don't believe me?
Fine. Let me tell you some stories.
See that girl over there? The pretty one with the blonde hair and blue eyes, small nose, tan skin? Carrying her math book, talking to a small posse of laughing girls? They're heading for the benches, and they're smiling like they don't have a single worry. She's one of the popular girls, isn't she? Therefore, she must be the happiest girl on earth.
Actually, she's not.
Look at her. She's skinny, right? A bit too skinny. You can count her ribs, can't you. It's because of what her mother said.
She called her fat, you know. That girl took it to heart, and she's starving herself. H

bone-thin arms resemble bed rails--
tears in my arms, the morphine drip in your vein.
My inner rage refutes your calm acceptance.
You ask if we are waiting for you to die: no.
We are waiting for a miracle,
we are waiting for you to heal--
We are waiting for something that will not happen.
We are stretching for something that is out of reach.
We are holding onto our obsolete hopes, the small fragments of our lives
so closely, we cannot see the bigger picture
In a paradox, God is calling you clearly,
but we can't seem to hear His voice--
only the silence ringing in our ears
as the monitor stops
your breathing ceases
your face un-creases--
and, for the first time in years,
you run Home.

How could you?
How could you do this to me? How could you do this to my LIFE?
Because of you, the other kids in my class teased me and called me a geek.
Because of you, I felt isolated and depressed.
Because of you, my parents give me weird looks when they catch me dancing around my room in my costume...
Because of you, I felt embarrassed.
Why, cosplay, why?
Because of you, I waste hours standing in line to get into conventions. HOURS.
Because of you, the people I don't even know behind me in line start talking to me
Complete STRANGERS talk to me and smile and take my picture and compliment me!
Cosplay, just what do you think you're doing to me?
Because of you, I'm always broke from buying anime and manga and merchandise and sewing supplies and craft supplies and bento box stuff
It's all YOUR fault that I'm so addicted!
Because of you I have WAY too many other interests!

This is what they told me,
Day after day
If you don't act this way,
People will think strange thoughts
If you don't act a certain way,
Being your own person is wrong.
Fit in, or forever be alone.
You don't want people to think
How dare you.
How dare you say these words to me.
How dare you tell me who to be.
What if someone told
The Fine Brothers
Or any other soul with great potential
That they needed to act like everyone else
Or else people would think
Maybe someone did.
Maybe they didn't listen.
Maybe they stayed true to themselves.
Maybe they acted like who they were,
Even with some people thinking these
And went on to reach goals
they never thought possible.
I know that's what I did.
They tried to break me.

Playground Pebble GrayThe air was cold.Playground Pebble Gray1 year ago in Free Verse
Beneath a cloud-choked sky,
we ran with winter coats
and Rorschach-splotched cheeks,
the metal rungs of monkey bars
and parallel beams
callousing the destinies
lined out on our palms.
from a corner
where wind-trampled grass
and tumbling stones met
as two fifth grade Gods,
stoic in long sleeves and bare ears,
told a younger boy to lay down
and trust them.
Eight years old and far too wise,
I lost track of my breaths
in the same moment
his throat clamped tight
over the handful of playground pebbles
poured between his teeth
when his eyes were closed.
Shut Up About TwilightIm getting sick of everyone talking about Twilight. I dont care whether you absolutely love it to death or hate it and have burned your own copy. Just stop talking about it. Ive read the books, Ive liked the books, and Ive hated the fans.Shut Up About Twilight6 years ago in Reviews & Guides
Why do I just want people to shut up about this book? Well lets see why I hate the fans:
There are documented cases of people being harassed and actually physically attacked, I dont know how many of these are real but I wouldnt put it past the Twi-tards to actually do this. Im not going to even get into some of these cases; there should be a link at the bottom to this site that has documented these cases into a dictionary form. It explains itself.
The other reason I hate Twi-tards is that they think that Twilight is the greatest thing in the world, given to them by the gods as their holy book and that all opposition to it must be meant with hostility. I sh*t you not. Theres even a f*cking rel

Just the thought makes me jittery.
Do you feel my heart beat,
when I hug you and our chests meet?
I've hugged you only once or twice,
but in your arms, it just felt so nice.
You're like a song forever stuck in my head,
when I should be thinking or other things you're there instead.
I can't stop reading you,
you're my favorite book.
I can't stand not to look.
At how you smile, and how you stand.
Someone pull me onto dry land.
Cause I'm swimming in my love for you.
we barely talk, this is true.
Since you live in your popular world,
with your tons of girls,
none of which are me.
It seems hopeless, but that doesn't stop me.
Maybe one day we'll end up together, then they will see.
I used to think you'd never like me, but I was surprised.
Every so often I look at you, and then I see your eyes.
looking at.. me.
It doesn't seem possible, more like a dream.
but maybe you liking me is more possible than it seems.
Whenever I'm around you,
I don't want to say anything
