Mortality 2Jack Spicer awoke the next morning (well, more like noon really), yawning, and absent mindedly scratching at his neck, unaware of the healed over puncture wounds that could be found there. He knew nothing of what had transpired last night; the Upir, Wuya, none of it was remembered even as a weird dream. To him, it had never happened so he acted accordingly, going about his morning as he normally did.Mortality 24 years ago in Introductions & Chapters

"OUCH!! DANG IT!!" the evil boy genius shouted in response to stubbing his toe on the end of his bed.
While he proceeded to hop around yelling; he didn't notice the coat he had haphazardly thrown on the floor last night was still there and stepped on it, sliding until he fell with a 'whumph'. He rubbed his head, glaring at the wall and picked up the black trench coat he'd slipped on, throwing it over the messy sheets.
Oh, how he hated mornings. Especially Monday mornings; when he ruled the world he was definitely getting rid of Mondays.

Should they understand me? I mean, Omi's Chinese, Kimiko's Japanese, Raimundo's Brazilian, and Clay's American. So maybe Clay should be able to understand me, but not the others, right? I WAS speaking English. Whatever. They still didn't move.

Five year old Clay Bailey was happily playing outside with his three year old sister, Jesse after they had finished milking the cows and harvesting the eggs.
“Cwome Cway! I’s want to you’s to do magic again!” The three year old Jesse clapped excitedly, demanding her brother do his magic with the ground again.
“Al’right Jesse, here I go!” Clay said in excitement, he proceeded to stomp the ground underneath their feet causing a crater to form and the elephant-size boulders to lift up into the air. Clay then started punching them into little pebbles, making Jesse clap in excitement.
Clay had a huge smile on his face at the accomplishment on the move that he had been practicing for two weeks had finally paid off.
Suddenly a loud snort filled the air as both children slowly turned around and saw a huge wild bull glaring down at them with red eyes. Both of the ch

“Just, take a look at them and make up your mind.” He muttered before limping out of the room, leaving his only son to stare at the kitchen table and the contents upon it. His gaze wasn’t entirely focused, having slipped away minutes ago to watch the dust particles in the air around him, illuminated by the late spring sunshine. He took a deep, slow breath in, watching as they twirled towards him, before spinning away on his exhale. He felt like those particles at the moment; following everyone else beck and tow but his own. Three of the four Xiaolin Monks sat huddled on one side of a corner, occasionally peeking around it to look at Raimundo who was sitting on the temple steps, staring off into space. Kimiko had the Mindreader Conch to her ear aimed at Raimundo.

Maurice Antonio Rolf Jean-Pierre Gaulle LeGrand IV- Now better known as Ping Pong- had never felt so conflicted in his life. On the one hand, his dream had come true. He had proven himself to his heroes, and now he had won the right to train under them, beside them, to become the next Xiaolin Warrior. On the other, however, the Xiaolin Temple was now lost. The Wu was lost. And, as he watched his new teammates pick through the rubble and debris for the scraps of their old lives, Ping Pong couldn’t help but feel that something far more important had been lost as well.
Looking through the debris by the gardens, Raimundo had smiled in pure relief as he dug out a battered old teddy bear, only to have it fall away to a lost, broken look when he noticed the gaping tear across the toy’s belly. Kimiko noticed this, and gingerly took the teddy from her friend with a promise to the Wind Dragon that she’s sew it up for him later, earning a look of gratitude from the Brazilian.

First the four had to find each other. The oldest was the god of earth, he named himself Clay. Second, came the wind god, Raimundo. Out from the splitting fire came goddess Kimiko. The crickets sounded different here.
Clay had noticed the first night in China that the buzz and whirr of nighttime insects was different than what he had grown used to back in Texas, but he had gotten used to the Chinese night noises. For some reason, now they sounded strange, alien.
Clay sighed, staring up at the ceiling above his sleeping stall.
After Master Fung had dropped that bombshell on him about being banned from breeding, Clay had been hit with a massive wave of homesickness.
The truth be told, his teammates hadnt been that consoling; theyd just forbidden him from going near the gardens and given him his space.
So began a long two weeks of rough sighs, deep silence and restless nights.
Rai and Kimiko accused him of being a drama queen, but if life was meant to be lived without knowing the love of another, of knowing them and becoming their partner and starting a family of his own, then what was the point?

Kimiko supposed she must have looked frantic or in shock the way Clay had talked to her, like he was calming a wounded animal. Omi kept asking questions, all of which she ignored, until Raimudo had eventually told him to shut up. Rai's empathy was
