"Paper Heart" is in select theaters August 7th.

Does love really exist?

Charlyne Yi does not believe in love. Or so she says.

"Paper Heart" follows Charlyne as she embarks on a quest across America to make a documentary about the one subject she doesn't fully understand. As she and her good friend (and director) Nicholas search for answers and advice about love, Charlyne talks with friends and strangers, scientists, bikers, romance novelists, and children. They each offer diverse views on modern romance, as well as various answers to the age-old question: does true love really exist?

Then, shortly after filming begins, Charlyne meets a boy after her own heart: Michael Cera. As their relationship develops on camera, her pursuit to discover the nature of love takes on a fresh new urgency. Charlyne risks losing the person she finds closest to her heart.

Inspiration

Is love a many splendid thing? Is it a battlefield? Can it conquer all?

We want to know what love means to you!
Get your creative juices flowing and design a movie poster (including the film's title and release information) and focusing on the theme "What Does Love Mean to Me?"

Whether it's playing an amazing video game for 10 hours straight, taking a romantic walk on the beach with that special someone, or even seeing your new baby for the first time, we want to see your definition of love!

Robert shot an action-packed short film called Two Scoops, starring twins Lola and Lucia who operate an ice cream truck by day and happen to also be monster-slayers. Fans contributed to the project by submitting films, Tweeting their ideas for super-weapons, creating the fiercest monsters, and sending in their photos to appear on Missing Person posters.

We're excited to announce that the collaboration is now complete! You can see the finished film right here, along with the best contributions from fans, and documentary footage to tell the story of the project.

It's a philosophy, an attitude, and a commitment to being the best you can be. It's about not letting drugs and alcohol compromise who you are. It's about staying strong in the face of anything that'll make you less than you, because ultimately, it's your life and it's so worth it.

DeviantART is the perfect place to show off all the passions that fill up your life.

Show us what you love and what inspires you. Those passions that fill your life—the things that leave no room for drugs and alcohol. Draw, paint, sculpt, photograph, digitally manipulate—exercise your craft in any way you choose to form the shape of the Above the Influence symbol.

Your artwork will be featured in a sharable slideshow widget on the deviantART homepage and on abovetheinfluence.com. And not only that, Above the Influence might offer to use your artwork in their national advertising campaigns!

Artistic Journey Challenge Winners

Wed Nov 26, 2014, 12:05 PM

Running Towards Improvement by TheK40
Video by Keith Fenter, kfenter

In the "What Does Your Artistic Journey Look Like?" Challenge, we asked the DeviantArt community to show us their personal creative journeys. We selected 50 deviants and integrated their work into a fantastical collaborative roadway under the direction of Keith Fenter. The result: an eclectic combination of hopes, desires and achievements in the arts reflecting the core of the community that is DeviantArt.

Judges' Comments

"Here we have a clear window into this artist's journey. We get to see all the way back to his humble beginnings, struggling with drawing stick figures, up to the point where he's totally nailed line, color, and perspective. With a wonderfully clever and pleasing composition, this piece even gives us the chance to see the artist dodge an obstacle on the way down his creative road."

Judges' Comments

"Wylielise mingles both traditional and digital platforms to create a beautiful marriage of old and new, showing both in technique and illustration that there are many roads you can traverse and several ways to get there on your own artistic journey."

Judges' Comments

"This piece covers various mediums of art and shows how an artist must experiment with a variety of materials throughout their artistic journey. The composition of intricately placed details tells a story most artists can relate to."
