The rusty metal chains creaked as Tony swung back and forth on the old porch swing, listening the rain hit the tin roof of the Jones Boarding House. The air was already filled with the fantastic lakey smell that fresh rain left in its wake. The storm had been raging on for since the early daylight hours, but it was finally starting to come to an end.
Tony smiled up at the sky and was glad to see that the angry dark clouds were finally beginning to dissipate, leaving behind wispy white clouds that allowed small bits of blue sky to peak through them. That was good. Though he loved storms, Tony knew that today wasn’t a good day for an all day pour down.
He let out a tired sigh and looked down at the driveway leading up to the boarding house. Expecting to see some sign of his missing sibling. For the thousandth time he found the driveway to be empty.
