Well, this is the big chapter we've been waiting for, and no, Bali makes no appearances—despite the story's title. This chapter will only last for five years—the duration of World War I.
Now, since most if not all of you are unfamiliar with Victoria II, let me explain the difference between a World War and regular was in-game. A regular war is usually fought between 2-7 countries over one or two things. In a regular war, a peace treaty can be signed where no one suffers in the end. In a World War, we're looking at 6-30 countries with many possible repercussions to losing and no possibility of a white peace—a faction has to lose. As one would probably imagine, the death toll of a World War is going to be colossal, so this is where we'll be seeing some serious depopulation as a result of warfare. In the city of Budapest, a full moon cast an alluring blue color down upon the land. The evening was beautiful, truly something to enjoy. Though the moon was casting a blue hue upon the Hungarian city, in reality, the entire state was colored red under Russia's influence. There was a strict sense of control, and unlike the other members of the Warsaw Pact, there was dissent.
Hungary was tapping her cheek sadly whilst leaning over the balcony of her home. Her eyes glimmered intently as she gazed over the city, ultimately looking westward with suppressed hope. She gently pat her cheek and let out a sigh at the silence of the city. While under the Warsaw Pact's grasp, there was a mandated curfew. World War II had come to a close; the Axis powers had climbed to a near victory over the Allies, but alas, fell to Russia's unnatural strength, America's extreme patriotic personality, and England's strategic planning. The major Axis powers of Germany, Italy, and Japan lay defeated, but united with their former enemies.
Russia and his soviet allies have seized much of Europe and Asia, and now desires to spread the word of communism to the rest of the world. America—through a mix of egotism and patriotism—opposes the idea of a communist world order, and has thus remained aligned with his former Allies. The two now exchange hostile words more often than with Germany in World War II.
