The sun had barely crested over the eastern horizon, when the Gypsy caravan came to a stop at the top of a hill. Barely an hour’s walk to the west from where the caravan stood, was the city of Madrid. The Cortés family was here after being away from Madrid for almost three years. Excited to see the city, a young woman with long (h/c) hair hanging in loose waves down her back lightly jumped down from the caravan, her bare feet striking the ground as the burgundy sash tied at her waist jingled. Her long, ankle length, crimson coloured skirt swished lightly around her legs as she walked to the crest of the hill, and looked out over the city. She gently adjusted the strap of her white, off the shoulder blouse, fixing the long poufy sleeve.
The city looked beautiful, painted in the pale pink light of the coming dawn. (E/c) eyes frantically darted from

The Time He Made Nature SilentOnce upon a time, a long while before you or I or the President was born, the world was quite different. In those days, animals, rocks, and plants could talk, but that made things quite confusing in the long run, since no one could walk on grass or hunt for his dinner without entering into intense negotiations that could last for days. After a few years of this, mankind got a little fed up with the constant bickering and decided that there had to be a way to get everything to just shut up and bend to its will.The Time He Made Nature Silent7 years ago in Humor
Now, mankind knew it couldnt ask the animals to become silent so it could hunt them (because that would turn into a debate), nor could it ask rocks and plants to keep their mouths shut, either. Since asking nicely wouldnt work (and negotiations were always getting tied up in red tape) mankind decided to send out a representative to find a solution to their troubles.
Because names were less interesting in those days, our representative was a man named Ted. (Not to say,
The Willow TreeThe Willow Tree7 years ago in Free Verse
Meet me under the willow tree
It's our own summer shade;
The sweet, warm grass between our toes
Inside the emerald cave.
Kiss me under the willow tree
The leaves an autumn gold;
They flurry by as you walk me home
Before the night grows cold.
Hold me under the willow tree
We'll watch the winter snow;
Sharing warmth and sharing love
I'll pray you never go.
Marry me under the willow tree
Spring blossoms above our heads;
Birdsong follows the eternal vows
As you carry me to our bed.
FlyFly little angels,Fly3 years ago in Free Verse
on wings you've so long dreamed of—
your destinies always to soar.
Your twinkling eyes so much
like the stars you now dance among,
perhaps more beautiful.
Your young souls
as pure as fresh fallen snow
and untouched by harsh reality for so long.
Although your times were short
they were well spent
and full of happiness and magic.
Blessed were those who met you,
who had the chance to love you,
whose hearts your smile touched.
I promise never to forget you—
those I never knew,
those missed by many loved ones.
Memories forever cherished,
glowing faces now famous.
Never to be forgotten.
On crystal wings,
and remembered dreams,
little angels, fly.
