These nights are weary when
I stand alone against these winds.
Take my hand and hold me,
Because it's time for me to go.
Don't let me leave; beg me to stay.
If only I could hear the pleas
Everyone else says to me in
Your voice, perhaps I would.
But I can't, for this is my destiny,
And my victory is long past due.
This is my life, and your words
Cannot chain my broken spirit.
I have to move on today, as
I can feel the world calling me.
I will leave this sleepy village
With nothing on me but my name.
All I can hope is for you to see
Through my silent, crimson eyes,
To understand why I must be a
Championuntil my days are up.
Writing songs about despondency
And a lost lover that you won't find
Fit in this city of many colors and
A hundred thousand turgid dreams.
Someday, I promise you that I
Will be back in your arms again
When my seas run dry and these
Rivers flow to a bitter, hollow end.
Wanderlust is bloodlust, and it
Streams in these veins of mine.
