Skeleton of a MosaicDead passing to the flower the dark heavensSkeleton of a Mosaic7 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Stone eyes watching sunsets
And the souls of the dead bloom.
Frozen tears of the moon
To fall like angel's down
To blanket the world
To pass on into day
And be forgot all too soon.
Sunlight glimmering upon the gilded tail
Of the azure, winged flame lost to the past
And only the shining dust of the stars
To remember so great a dream.
Silvery foam to crest the waves of darkest seas
Shining like starlight
Amongst turbulent shadows
Sharing only a glimpse of the unicorn in it's grasp
Before swallowing the light again.
Pipes of the highlands
To call on the woaded fae
Strength to last man's sin
For one's of heart and kin
Steps of the pretty lasses
Dance to the songs of old
Courage to beat down apathy
Shining with the dead and free.
