What Breastfeeding Feels LikeThis might be strange for me to talk about, but seriously, I want to tell you the experience I went through ever since February 2. When I was at the hospital, the doctor handed baby Viktor to me. This was the time when I wanted to practice how to nurse a baby for the first time. I didn't have very much skill during the first day because of course, it was the first day. So, I asked my doctor to show me how and he proudly did. At first when I felt it, it literally felt like a leech caught my nipple. Literally. It also tickled a bit, too. I giggled. When I got back home, I started practicing and getting more used to it. Though, it does feel a little uncomfortable at some times, but at least I do it everyday so it'll be easier to get used to. Unlike me, my sister-in-law and my stepbrother use infant formula to feel their children. Like, my nephew who was born in October, they still feed him through the bottle. You wake up to the sound of a bawling baby over the video baby monitor at the bedside table. Evangeline was only two weeks old and she was already so opinionated for such a tiny thing. Gently tossing the warm covers off of your body you try to get up only to find an arm had been anchoring you down.
