Barbara Gordon, better known as Batgirl, sighed as she again tugged on her bonds. Behind her, her teammate Cassie Sandsmark, also known as Wonder Girl, grunted as the young heroines hands again pushed into her stomach.
The two girls were tied back to back, with their hands tied around the chest of the other. More rope secured their legs at the knees and ankles, and a strip of duct tape had been placed over their mouths, then covered with a bandanna.
Neither one was particularly happy about their predicament; the gags limited their speech, making it nearly impossible to communicate a plan of escape. Although of course, that was the point. Under normal circumstances, Wonder Girl could use her incredible strength to easily snap their bonds; unfortunately, she had been tied up with her own magic lasso, which was unbr

For the first time in her life, Barbara Gordon felt that she was the Queen of the World. Two months ago, she helped the Dynamic Duo in proving her father's innocence when he was framed by Two-Face. One week ago, she helped Robin to solve the bombing incident which could cost her father's and Mayor Hamilton Hill's jobs.
Barbara couldn't wait to go out on patrol again. Each time she put on the Batgirl-costume, she felt great. She felt that she was making a difference, that she was actually helping Gotham City to get rid of crime.
Barbara smiled to herself. She was at home having a dinner with her father, Commissioner James Gordon.
"How are your studies, Barbara?" asked the Commissioner.
"They're alright dad," his daughter replied. "I'm going to study Juvenile Law."
"Great to hear that everything works well for you," her father said. "Have you met someone? That Richard Grayson seems to be a nice chap..."
"Oh come on, dad!" Barbara snapped. "There's nothing between us. We're in fact rivals

"Hey...I thought The Ventriloquistthat Batman villain with the split personalitywas an old man. How come they're calling this hot young woman The Ventriloquist?"
"But waitI thought Hal Jordan was Green Lantern. Who the hell is Kyle Rayner and why's he wearing Green Lantern's costume? What do you MEAN Hal Jordan turned evil, tried to blow up the world, and eventually killed himself by flying into the sun? When did THAT happen?"
"...WHO in the WORLD is Booster Gold?"
Two years ago these were just a few of the many questions running through my mind as I attempted, for the first time ever, to try reading DC Comics. With seventy years' worth of comic history staring me in the face, I had no idea where to start, and picked volumes at random under the assumption that I could start anywhere and get an immediate grasp on the characters

"If you thought you could take me on a second time Batgirl, you're very mistaken. But I have wasted enough time with you. That diamond is mine!" Harley Quinn laughed.
Batgirl could see that Harley was enjoying herself. Why shouldn't she be? Batgirl was helpless at the mercy of Harley Quinn, who defeated her all by herself. But that wasn't entirely true since Batgirl was struck down from behind. Her assailant won only through foul play!
The last time they clashed with each other, The Joker's henchwoman had help - Poison Ivy. Together they were two against one teenage girl who didn't plan on doing any heroics. She was only going out to a costume party to have some fun.
Batgirl tried to pull her hands which were bound behind her back. It was no use. She could feel the rope (going down from her wrists) pulling at her ankles. She couldn't move her feet either. Her feet were bound together and secured to the frontal chair legs.
"I admire your dedication, Batgirl. But there's nothing y
