The Free Spirit
I kneel on a bleak cliff
Watching this violet-crimson sunset
And reminisce within the last light rift
As the morning star is put to rest
The realm of light and darkness shift
I stand and begin to walk away from my regrets
Forgive me, Father, for my new path begins
Lecture me, Father, I didn't mean any disrespect
It's just I know what I know
And it's not any better, nor worse
But it's my own personal choice to let go
Let the last prayers be said! / Let the final hymns be intense!
I will never hear them again! / This will be my last Amen!
These are my own words, they're not yours
I don't want to live on my knees anymore
I will not depend on you like I did before
Along this renewing path I walk
I head towards the lavender-vermillion sunrise
Never again will I waste another time-consuming thought
I will just simply live the way I want to live my life
While never waiting for an answer from above
And I will continue to feel so alive inside
I have not been

The mixture of rain and sleet slammed onto your skin as the horse pounded through the trees. You did your best to ignore it, instead focusing on navigating the horse through the trees. At first the creature had done very good, and all you really had to do was hang on. Then, the freezing rain started and the horse wanted to go back. The rain did give you a good advantage though. It washed away all the traces of your trail, which was one of the only reasons you had kept riding. When the rain stopped you would have to continue on foot and let the horse go its own way. The other advantage was that the enemy would be taking cover until the rain stopped. If you were lucky they might not consider you worth the trouble at all and not bother coming after you. You made a mental note to make some sort of shrine for whatever spirit gave you this good fortune.
As you dodged another tree branch you wondered how long you'd bee

My daughters embrace is so comforting.
With thoughts in my mind of Mister Everything.
His soul holds a passion that touches me.
And yet when I finally begin to sleep.
My guilty hearts screams are deafening.
It has been nearly a year since our first kiss.
But the laughter we shared is what I miss.
Face to face at a table in my dream, we sit.
And I question how we have come to this.
How was our love so easy to dismiss?
My only answer is his infinite silence.
Mind drifting on to another love.
Who I gave up so easily for the one above.
A man that most women only dream of.
Someone only a fool would run away from.
But when it comes to love I am so dumb.
And in my dreams I wish for morning to come.
Awake, my p
