Welcome back to Girl Power Month on SithVamp Reviews! Well, let me tell you guys something: one of my favorite authors is Roald Dahl. He wrote many great books, and I especially love his books aimed at children, such as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach, The Witches, The Twits, and Matilda. Many of these books had film adaptations, and the one about Matilda is the movie I’ll be looking at today.
Matilda came out in 1996. The movie opens in a hospital, where a couple, Harry Wormwood and his wife Zinnia, played by Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman, pick up their newborn daughter, however, neither of them seem happy about her.
Harry and Zinnia name their daughter Matilda, but they always neglect her. While Harry leaves to sell used cars for unfair prices, Zinnia goes to play bingo and Matilda’s dumb older brother Mikey goes to school, they always leave Matilda home to get the mail.
