Sweet HoneyThe first time I saw her,Sweet Honey17 hours ago in Free Verse More Like This
I could feel my insides churning.
She had pretty blue eyes,
The kind that left you breathless.
Pieces of gold,
Were scattered in those orbs of blue.
When she smiled,
Her eyes would crinkle like autumn leaves,
And her bubblegum lips curled upwards like the coils on a new notebook.
Laughter would slip through those chambers,
Playing my heart with the precision of a musician.
Spools of yellow draped along her head,
Cascading over the pale mountain of her skin like a waterfall.
When I first saw her,
The world stopped being a scary place.
She was the light at the end of my tunnel,
My only hope for freedom.
I was drunk on her happiness;
She tasted like strawberries.
She was only a daydream,
In my life of a nightmare.
