The Things Remembered

Started as a quick sketch. Got quickly out of hand.

I haven't given Ashika nearly as much love as Tristine, mainly because he's the harder character to both draw and write, but I do love his story. He and his wife were such a cohesive team, people who genuinely supported each other, so when he lost her he was understandably devastated. He's had plenty of time to re-learn how to live without her, but it's a wound that's never truly healed, and probably never will.

The sad part is, if Nagisa had just gotten the help she needed to deal with her issues and Feral nature she might have worked everything out and been fine. They both would have been steadfast Disciples, grateful for the refuge Basileus invited them into—though the fact that they wouldn't be able to start a family might have chipped at their resolve over the years.
