PB1-C Nancy

 First off, I have to say every aircraft design I do referring to the Destroyermen saga is derived, at least in part, from an initial drawing by the author, Taylor Anderson.  Kudos to an inventive mind.   I then bend, fold, spindle & mutilate the drawings to my own depraved ends.

This is a design proposal drawn up by the Balkpaan Aircraft Works subject to approval of the War Department (Aircraft Division) for modifications to the PB-1B "Nancy".  This is the primary scout, bomber utility aircraft of the Lemurian Union.  The proposed design changes are to correct some of the initial design flaws of the aircraft.  Primary of which is the longitudinal stability issue.  The current "B" model has the Center of Gravity (CG) located aft of the Center of Lift (CL) making the aircraft inherently unstable in the pitch axis.  While flyable in this trim, the aircraft requires highly skilled pilots & a clear knowledge of the issue to operate safely.  The proposed changes would shift the CG forward & the CL aft enough to bring the design within an acceptable flight envelope.  The increased weight of the "C" model proposal is compensated for with better streamlining & a more powerful version of the standard "W/G" in-line 4-cylinder engine.

This is version #2 of the proposed PB-1C model with modifications from pilot inputs.  The design modifications include a relocated engine for easier hand propping, & addition of a P-2 derived variable pitch propeller assembly.
