About the character. I've stolen this text from wikipedia:
OIOS (or Coeus) was one of the Titan gods, sons of Ouranos (Sky) and Gaia (Earth). He and his brothers conspired against their father, laying an ambush for him as he descended to lie with Earth. Four of the siblings were posted at the corners of the world, where they seized hold of him and held him fast, while Kronos castrated him with a sickle.

In this myth the brothers apparently personified the great pillars which occur in near-Eastern cosmologies holding heaven and earth apart, or sometimes the whole cosmos aloft. Koios' alternate name, Polos ("of the northern pole"), suggests he was the Titan of the pillar of the north. His brothers Hyperion, Iapetos, and Krios, on the other hand, presided over the west, east, and south respectively. Koios, as god of the axis of heaven around which the constellations revolved, was probably also a god of heavenly oracles, just as his wife Phoibe presided over the oracles of the axis of earth Delphi,--a common inherited by their grandson Apollon.

The Titanes were eventually deposed by Zeus and cast into the pit of Tartaros. Hesiod describes this as a void located beneath the foundations of all, where earth, sea and sky have their roots. Here the Titanes shift in cosmological terms from being holders of heaven to bearers of the entire cosmos. According to Pindar and Aeschylus (in his lost play Prometheus Unbound) the Titanes were eventually released from the pit through the clemency of Zeus.

En la mitología griega, Ceo (en griego antiguo Κοῖος Koĩos, ‘inteligencia’, ‘inquisitividad’) era el Titán de la inteligencia. Los titanes eran los hijos gigantes de Urano (Cielo) y Gea (Tierra).
Con su hermana Febe, titánide del brillo y la luna, Ceo fue padre de Leto y Asteria. De Zeus (hijo de Crono y Rea), Leto engendró a Artemisa y Apolo.
Ceo representaba la adivinación por las estrellas, así como el eje norte del cielo alrededor del cual giraban las estrellas, que recibió el nombre de Polo por él (Πολος Polos era uno de los epítetos de Ceo).
Junto con su esposa, que representaba el centro de la Tierra (entendida como un disco plano), despuntó como uno de los primeros dioses proféticos, siendo Ceo el portavoz de la sabiduría de su padre Urano y Febe la de su madre Gea. En este sentido sus dos hijas representaban las dos ramas de la clarividencia: Leto y su hijo Apolo presiden el poder profético de la luz y el cielo, mientras que Asteria y su hija Hécate lo hacen del de la noche, la oscuridad ctónica y los espíritus de los muertos. Asimismo Apolo dividía su tiempo entre el oráculo de Delfos, en el centro de la Tierra que presidía su abuela y, durante el invierno, en las regiones hiperbóreas, cercanas al polo que representaba su abuelo Ceo. Ambos lugares estaban custodiados por dragones, Pitón en Delfos y la constelación de Draco en el norte axial, pudiendo éstos representar a la pareja de Titanes. Según esta versión Ceo sería el dragón que Atenea lanzó al firmamento durante la citada titanomaquia.
Con los demás titanes, Ceo fue derrocado por Zeus y los demás olímpicos, que lo encerraron en el Tártaro.
