Yeah, hi, Twilight again - Twilight and my obsession with depicting her miserable existence full of constant moral trials.

The new season shows that Alicorns can be born from other Alicorns, but Twilight wasn't a born Alicorn.. She was made.  In her blood, pumps the magic of a unicorn, but in her heart beats the power of an Alicorn since her rebirth.  So what happens when she has her first foal?  A mortal.

Meet Duskshimmer, Twilight's son and dreamer.  He, like his mother, has a natural talent for magic, but he's more enamored with other skills.. skills he wasn't born with.

Twilight : "Dusk? Dusk, where are you?"

Duskshimmer : "Out here, mom."

Twilight : "What are you doing out here, dear?"

Duskshimmer : "Watching."

Twilight : "Watching what?"

Duskshimmer : "The sky."

Twilight : "What are you watching for?"

Duskshimmer : "The birds.  I like to watch them."

Twilight : "Ahh.. And why do you like to watch them?"

Duskshimmer : "...."

Duskshimmer : "I like to watch them fly."

Twilight : "Oh."

Duskshimmer : "...."

Duskshimmer : "Can you tell me what it's like, mom?  To fly."

Twilight : "It's.. hard to say."

Duskshimmer : "The pegasus say it's like swimming through a sea of wind, they say.. it feels - freeing."

Twilight : "..."

Duskshimmer : "I never see you fly much, mom."

Twilight : "That's because I find freedom in my magic."

Duskshimmer : "..."

Duskshimmer : "I want to fly."

Twilight : "Then you should keep watching the birds."

Duskshimmer : "What will watching birds do?"

Twilight : "Will keep the magic of your dreams alive."

Duskshimmer : "Then I'll fly?"
