This is a drawing I did of Amber Benson, who plays Tara on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I'll be using this as one of two illustrations in a short story about an actress who deals with a fan overstepping his boundaries.

I used blue pencil and then went straight over in micron pen. The damn wax gums up my pens, but I think I like the rough corners here and there. I then stuck it on photoshop for some quick colors, I'm not good at coloring, as you can tell.

This wasn't a photo-trace, so that's why her head's a little long. I hope you all like!

So ... been a little while since I visited the Whedonverse artistically, but I've been steadily working my way through Angel lately (having already rewatched all seven seasons of Buffy starting in January ... yup, ich bin ein uber-geek :XD:), so I've been very much in the zone all year ... so this was really just a matter of time.

I've never had the opportunity to play the Buffyverse RPG (never even managed to lay hands on a copy of the corebook - I know of it and have seen pics of it ... and being a big Whedon geek I want it REAL BAD), but if I ever did this would definitely be my main player OC. Leona "Leo" Cassidy, one of the "brand new" Slayers that (spoiler alert!) got "activated" at the end of Buffy Season 7. Born and bred in Leeds, West Yorkshire (Northern England to you foreign types ;)), Leo's never even been out of the country, and while the majority of the world's Slayers have been collected together she's kinda missed the bus, for the most part a bit of a rogue, just doing her thing on a local level. Probably doesn't help she doesn't actually have a Watcher, of course ...

Yup, as you can probably tell she's far more like one of MY girls, this one ... and as a result bears closer comparisons to Faith. She's sassy, ballsy and a bit of a bad girl, but there's a sweet, soft gold heart under all that bravado. She's definitely not the most well-adjusted of girls, but then what do you expect of a Slayer who's dating a demon, while her best friend is a werewolf and her widowed stepmother and step-sister are both witches? But she's got real natural talent, proper flair when it comes to fighting, and she's great at thinking on her feet, which all makes her a great Slayer with a fair few kills under her belt and at least one minor "saved-the-world" too ... :XD:

Yeah, this girl was great fun to come up with, and if I could go anywhere with her I know I can get some real enjoyment out of her. Sure, she's pretty typical of a fair few of my OC girls, but I do enjoy strong, cute alt girls, so ... :XD: ... anyways, I'm particularly pleased with her hair, and how well the t-shirt turned out too. If any of you guys like it enough I MIGHT post the original design sometime if you wanna have a go at making your own tees ;) ... anyways, I've got more characters for this in mind, so there should be more to come. Including a pretty class idea for a villain. Oh, and there'll be more fanart on the way soon too, of course ... ^^;

This is a picture I drew from a number of individual photos of the characters from Buffy. It's alright I 'spose.

Step aside, Buffy Summers, ther's a new slayer in town... ( - apologies in advance to all those who are really into vamps in all their vampness - no offences intended)

- Hardbark the Aardvark, vampire-hunter: you can just about see the buckle-end of a bandolier of stakes hanging over his right shoulder (I coloured out the stake that was showing, as from the angle it just looked like he had some weird spike growing out the side of his nut), accounting for his more traditional forms of vampire-slaughter: he tends to prefer that axe though, just the right thing for some nice neat beheadings...

- well okay, not that neat; the surfboard doubles as a handy anti-bite-shield - short of garlic and crucifixes, there's nowt puts a vamp off so much as the prospect of getting their fangs full of fibreglass; the surfing thing is also a big relief from the night's work for Hardbark, plus it's well away from the world of darkness - them vamps can't stand the sun of course for one thing, but they really don't dig beaches either - they can't abide it when the sand gets into the frilly bits of them posh shirts they wear with their fancy dinner-jackets, or into them flouncy nighties they're always faffing about in...

So I have a few. . . issues with Angel and Buffy's relationship.

This is my representation of what the blonde slayer would look like in season 8. My friend Mikael colored it.
