So earlier in the week I made an image using the SAI program, from start to finish for the first time, and it turned out better than I’d thought. Usually I sketch in Photoshop, and then ink In SAI, because it’s much easier and more fun to ink in SAI, but after that I thought, why not sketch in SAI too, and decided to test it some more with some Warcraft sketches.
First I sketched the Draenei girl on the left, and she looks okay, maybe even good, but I was still getting used to working with the program. Then I sketched the Blood Elf girl in the middle, I took my time, tried some different facial expressions and she came out quite well I thought. At least much more detailed than my usual style.
Then I decided to sketch a Gnome Girl, and checked out some of the new model shots that have been released for reference. I took my time, sketched her, then re-sketched and edited a couple of times. There’s the finished sketch. And I reckon she looks awesome, maybe one of the best I’ve ever drawn.
I’m going to have to ink and colour that sketch.
