Mystery Lake [34] Aftermath Everyone was silent for several seconds before the panting began, and they worked together to nervously open the lock and file out of the vault. Even though what had come out of Ross didn't have an immediate or lingering after smell, the dusty and musty air outside of the vault still felt better to immerse in. Roxy swooped back after she took her breaths to check on vampire boy. He was still standing there, like a statue, his dark hair matted against his neck with a sheen of sweat. Miranda was standing nearby, but not far from the door. Having picked up the pipe, she'd hurled as close to the creatures as she could. Roxy had no idea why she'd retrieved it, but given the uncertainty of their encounters lately, she couldn't begrudge her keeping it as a comfort and insurance against whatever came for them next. Ross remained as pale as usual, but his nervous swallowing suggested he wasn't done with whatever he'd spewed forth. He asked, just the two of them

Robin's Wish Chapter 6: The Beginning of the End
*Robin* I wasn’t sure how long I had been out for but I awoke in discomfort on my stomach, I rolled onto my back and felt the weight of my implants press down on me. Wait… Implants? The idea felt right but I something about having them felt wrong and foreign, I remembered being at my mother’s in a low-cut top that showed them off because I guess for some reason that’s what she wanted in her ideal child but why did it feel like this was the first time I dealt with them? I threw my petite feet over the side of the bed and quickly got up. My swaying breasts caused me to stumble forwards as I adapted to the center of gravity. Something was wrong but I couldn’t place my finger on it, I looked down, and my vision was obscured by these melons protruding from my chest blocking the few down, the cold air making my nipples far too erect and my feminine frame felt the same as it was last night and yet something in my mind was telling me something had changed. I yawned and

Story 33: Rich guy to Maid
Once upon a time, in the heart of a bustling city, there lived a wealthy man named Richard Thornton. Richard was a man of stature and success, known for his opulent lifestyle and extravagant mansion. His life was a whirlwind of parties, social events, and business dealings, all of which took place in the grandeur of his luxurious home. One evening, as Richard was strolling through the dimly lit corridors of his mansion, he noticed an old, ornate mirror that he had never seen before. Its frame was intricately carved with ancient symbols and strange patterns that seemed to beckon to him. Curiosity piqued, he approached the mirror and gazed into it, expecting to see his own reflection. But as he stared into the mysterious mirror, a strange sensation washed over him. It was as if the very fabric of reality around him was shifting, and he felt a profound sense of disorientation. Colors swirled, and the room seemed to blur and distort. Richard's heart raced as he tried to comprehend what

Mystery Lake [64] Pets There was some slight glimmer of it when it came to his partner, but it seemed muted and clearly overshadowed by something else. Probably the trauma that Cerberus chose to dance around instead of addressing. The guy certainly had a lot of trauma, especially as suggested by that girl, who reminded him of someone he knew. But the biggest question that lingered in Roxy's mind was why he decided to put the heaviest weight of it all on her shoulders. All she did was talk to Cerberus in the store and challenge him a little bit. Rationally, that seemed like the kind of thing where he'd give her the cold shoulder more than anything else. But, instead, he treated her like she was his therapist, ranging to a confidant. Neverwink gave a decent amount of consideration to this part of town. It had classic light poles, well-kept facades, ornate signage, and a focused design. With a suppressed chuckle, a joke hit her brain that probably should've arrived hours earlier.

Mystery Lake [22] Jess Do It Layla went in next, and Joel... who soon chose the name Roxanne, did what he always did, no matter what kind of body contained his beautiful soul. She wanted an apology from Alyssa for me, even though it didn't matter. It was about showing the kind of person he and she really were. If only Alyssa could understand what I see in him. This moment should have shown her clearly, but I guess there was still too much in the way. I was genuinely afraid that Alyssa might hurt Roxanne. Not that it mattered to that darn, beautiful, self-sacrificing hero jerk who should've thought more about her own safety. Fortunately, it turned out all right. I guess. It was monumentally weird to watch the before and after acts between Duncan and Alyssa. They didn't really seem compatible to me, but you don't need that much to have a little fun. I couldn't imagine Joel like that, but she was projecting a randy mood, and I had to wonder. All the new names felt really rushed but

The school's new policy on their dress code
The school's new policy on their dress code Recently, at our Saint John school, our school head principal. Rachael has decided to change our dress code, and now we don't need to worry about forgetting to wear our school uniform. Since the new change, we have tried to adapt to the no school uniform rule; while some of us found it quite fun and exciting, we can wear whatever dress we desire without needing to wear the school uniform, and some students feel exhilarated. However, some of the student parents feel this new change in school policy may change their children's behaviour if they start to care only about their appearance and slowly lose their interest in studying, as this would affect these children's future careers in the long term. Once the school head principal heard this response, the school head principal decided to reply to the student's parents by telling them most schools in the US don't need students to wear any school uniform so that the school can use the money

Surviving a Buggy Game TG
Surviving a Buggy Game TG It was just another day for Kirk. An utterly mundane day where he was meeting his best friend, Greg. Apparently, he wanted to show him something cool. It was just an ordinary day where nothing was happening to a completely normal guy living his completely normal life. “If only that were the case.” He thought as he was encircled in hexagrams and consumed by a bright white light. A million alternatives of what was happening raced in his mind before the obvious, crazy answer penetrated his skull: magic. Something magical was happening, and before he knew it, the familiar urban scape around him vanished, replaced with a gold and blue chapel. To call the place gaudy was an understatement, the entire building was fashioned out of the shiny mineral, polished beyond the point of reason and all the carpets, tapestry, and tabards of the people around him had some shade of blue on it. “Hero, please listen!” Called the booming timbre of an old, bearded king sitting

Yuri Worlds [Epilogue] Carrie patiently waited before the sixth security gate for the guard in white to go through the same unlocking procedure that each of the previous guards had directed her through. This seemed like overkill. She listened carefully and came to the rudimentary understanding that each of these was like a nested doll universe contained within the previous. That didn't mean any of them were smaller than the ones before. Each contained a dizzying plethora of distorted cosmos, translucent ivory pathways like bleached classical astrolabes, and the same shallow impressions of divine authority the company flaunted in the backstage of Yuka's home universe turned up even higher. Pointless theater, she concluded. Each guard she met looked like she could've been the twin of the previous, but for slight, subtle distinctions: hair in a ponytail instead of a bun, how far their noses projected, and the prominence of their eyebrows. Like photocopies of the same person, which

Yuri Worlds [81] Tunnel “I think I know what this is,” Ceri whispered to Misaki as they crept through the strange tunnel under the Sasaki home. “A virtual reality access conduit. Or whatever they call that. But in the sci-fi shows Naoko watches, she mentioned episodes and ideas where the characters find these weird hallways that connect parts of a simulation. It’s crazy, I know, but maybe we’re in some sort of simulation? Someone may have put us in it while we were asleep. What do you think?” Misaki easily followed Ceri’s line of thought. Seeing this weird, impossible space stretching out underground despite being only as deep as the little cellar begged a rational solution to such alien geographies. Supposing a simulation also invited fresh glimmers of hopefulness. Maharu didn’t have to be really dead, just kicked from the virtual realm. Maybe what they saw wasn’t her spirit but her real body? And the weird, dark entity goop was just something the computer made up. The Sasaki
“Welcome to the harpy quickstart launch cannon. How can we help you?” A young harpy greeted as soon as the two priests entered the building with the large cannon on top of it. It really seemed like that thing at the top wasn’t just for show. “Uhm… yes, right. We came here to take the cannon up to the temple… I guess?” Akira spoke, not sounding so sure of himself anymore. Though who would blame him, since he was currently standing in front of a massive ‘living being’ launching device. “Exactly. So we would like to use your cannon for that, since I am assuming it is safe to use.” Ryder added, much more chilled about the situation. The harpy immediately saluted the two priests and let out a happy chirp. “Yep yep. Don’t worry, our cannon is super safe. I have been using it practically every day for years now, be it to give others a good start or to even fire myself to the upper level. Just wait for a moment, I’ll prepare the cannon for you.” With that, the harpy scurried off, running

A frog lady was in the back, working on new potions. " Oh... wasn't expecting anyone back here. Well, since you're here, wanna some new potions I made? " Felicia said. She moved out of the way. The potions sat on a large table. The sounds of bubbling came louder the closer you got to the potions. There wasn't a big selection, but maybe this could be the change you've been waiting for. Mystery Lake [101] Careless [Author's note: Alternate, unused title "Care Times A Thousand"] Roxy walked alone in the dark for what seemed like hours. She struggled to make progress, even as she stepped with swift determination. The ground beneath her feet shifted like a strange treadmill, fighting her for every inch. She sensed traces of sound, as if something had been said seconds before and then silenced or the audio just shut off, and there were still the ringing remnants, disturbing the air with what was left behind. She looked around, then stopped in surprise as she turned to see a man who bore a distinct family resemblance to her. He had a bit of one brother's nose and the cheekbones of another. Brown eyes accentuated the sleek, stark brunette eyebrows that punctuated his face. In addition, she could see some of herself in his features. The way the lower lip parted and dipped. New basketball CBA brings a Bender surprise NEW YORK (AP) — Things for pro basketball fans to look forward to: A hard spending cap. The end of “one-and-done”. Charter flights for WNBA teams. The Bender. Wait, what? The new joint NBA-WNBA collective bargaining agreement has perhaps the most unusual clause in any pro sports. It states that next season, two NBA teams will move down to the WNBA. From then on, promotion and relegation will occur regularly between the top and bottom teams in each league. This will be possible because of the leagues’ partnership with Celuron Technologies, whose gender conversion technology has been on the market with few users for several months. At the end of this NBA season, the team with the worst record will be taken to Celuron’s New York City-area facility, an event that the league plans to broadcast on live television. “We anticipate that this exciting development will capture fans’ imagination and serve as a deterrent for tanking,” Commissioner

Something that weighed on my heart for a while
Hello everyone, Hiros53 here and I have another announcement, so please stick until the end, but hear me out first. Let's start with the premise upfront: I do not like Captions anymore. It's funny, because captions definitely were the thing that brought me into this community and what really catapulted my popularity on deviant art. But there were certain things that have always bothered me about captions. Here is how I see them: The positives: - they are really clickbaity. People just tend to click on pictures more than on text, which is why captions tend to do better. - they show people that they are short, meaning they know they are not in for a long time when reading them. - They are great for new writers to get traction The negatives: - They are a pain to make as a creator. - They are selling the wrong thing. When people click, then they click because of the picture, not the story. - Making the picture feel fitting and making sure the text is readable is a real challenge from
