First we'll start off with the basics. When uploading a deviation onto deviantART that you want other deviants to share (i.e. Line-art, Bases, or stock photos), but you don't know how to do that.
Well when you upload something, it gets automatically copyrighted to you, doesn't matter if you don't claim it as yours, you still gain ownership (except if people upload copyright violations, then that's a different story). When filling out the information of a deviation before it's been submitted, you'll see a button on the very bottom of the submission page labeled "Creative Commons".
