set spinning in the dark
Now mute and set like stream-rent stones,
a dull and faceless light.
Streets and hills and homes,
the strangers past my door
where other realms I have not dreamt
in whispered secrets born.
The fields will lay me down
where our feet once trod;
beside our faded footsteps past
I lay a beating, fate-shamed heart.
The fool in me will float
above the senseless breath
with more in mind that transient dreams
of fleeting smiles in the sand.
Windows clothed in light
all equal in 'the afar',
from storm-grey shores I look for yours,
Forever barred, no entry charge
for me, I am of lore.
