A blast of air-conditioning embraces me
As I pull open the blue metal door.
I'm early, it seems.
The officers look around
Probably hoping for more people
To show up.
Gradually they trickle in.
Usually one at a time.
It's almost painful to watch.
At last everyone is there.
A grand total of about fifteen.
The officers introduce themselves.
The president of the club.
He's a senior with wire-rimmed glasses.
He seems slightly unconfident speaking.
The vice president.
She's the girl I talked to,
A junior, small in stature.
I remember her,
She once mentored me in middle school.
One of the music coordinators.
He looks laid-back,
The other coordinator.
Striped brown backpack.
He scans the room.
I remember none of their names.
I'll learn them later anyway.
The president explains the club.
I'm not paying much attention.
Papers are handed out.

Chimaerix said the following:
Carrying the thick end of a stick in her mouth, Phen trotted casually towards the mountainous border where she liked to reside. She had found a rose bush in the heart of the territory, fruiting quite well. She liked their fragrant scent, and had a nice, sweet taste. It was a welcome changed to chewing on rabbits and deer all day. Phen arrived at her favorite clearing, where the trees cleared out and gave a view of the high alps. Still, there was enough coverage to keep the sun from falling on her dark pelt. She settled down, placing the rose hips in front of her as she gazed out into the wilderness. Phen plucked a fruit from it's woody stem and munched on it carefully, feeling the juices coat her tongue. It had such a different texture and taste than that of meet.
Although the wind was blowing towards her from the peaks, the strong fragrance hindered her scent somewhat, making it difficult to detect anyone approaching. Still, Phen shrugged it of

Lights in the Hallway
Lucy’s light had gone out when she woke. It made her feel all the more awake, and for a moment she lay there, heart hammering.
Outside a carriage hurried past, the clopping of the horse’s hooves very loud to her in the silence. Beside her Emily kept sleeping soundly, a clear sign that there was no danger.
Lucy started to relax, only to realise that she had to use the toilet, and it had to be now.
Bounding out of bed she hurried to the door. It creaked as she she opened it, but again Emily did not wake.
It had been some hard first days for the sisters. The morning after their arrival their aunt had set them to work. She’d made Lucy run small errands for her, with Mort showing her where to go - “No one will do you any harm with Mor

“So, how was the day for you?” Flame asked, attempting to start a conversation with Zaze; the purple-ish dragon shrugged in response, “It was okay.”
The two dragons were at the dining hall, about to have lunch. It was another day that didn’t seem to matter to Zaze. Like all the other days. It was beginning to blur for him. He was hungry but he had to control himself. They were just currently waiting for their friends to arrive.
“I think it’s for the best that things are getting back to normal around here.”
Flame groaned inwardly, he’d never thought he’d be having trouble getting Zaze to car

She was used to not celebrating her birthday. Nobody remembered it, anyway. Her parents struggled financially for as long as she's been alive, so she was never had any big parties growing up. Not that she minded; her parents always made it a point to do something special on the evening of every birthday. Raven jolted upright with a gasp.
She’d woken up that morning, as she did nearly every morning, from a nightmare. Raven took a deep breath, and released the stranglehold her powers had on nearly everything within a five yard radius that wasn’t bolted to the floor. Dreams were supposed to be useful tools in determining one’s emotional well-being. That’s what the monks had taught her, anyway, but there wasn’t much point in reflecting on her nightmares anymore, Raven mused as she tried to calm herself down. They always took on the same theme, even if the details of the second apocalypse varied from night to night. She already knew what caused them – after living in fear of Trigon’s shadow for so long, who would be able to convince their subconscious mind to stop fearing him? – but her wakeful mind knew that he was gone and that she was in control of her emotions. The dreams would subside eventually,
